Celer Network is a layer-2 scaling platform that enables fast, easy and secure off-chain transactions for not only payment transactions, but also generalized off-chain smart contracts. It enables everyone to quickly build, operate, and use highly scalable decentralized applications through innovations in off-chain scaling techniques and incentive-aligned cryptoeconomics. The solution has been developed to be Blockchain agnostic not focused solely on one layer 1 Blockchain.

Celer is one of the old projects on the layer 2 scalability solutions market. Started in 2018, the platform is however not one of the leading in terms of developer adoption when it comes to scaling dApps. Celer recently gained some traction thanks to advertising easy access to DeFi through their scaling solution. However, as the layer 2 scaling market is getting highly competitive and some solutions such as StarkEx, Optimism or even Polygon (ex-Matic) are looking like the solution of choice for most of the leading dApps, we will see if Celer will be able to compete with those on the long term. The token is trading on both centralized (Binance) and decentralized (Uniswap) exchanges.
