Razor Network is a decentralized oracle network, providing external data to blockchain applications. Razor Network consists of validators who lock in their tokens as a “Stake” and provide data to the network.
The honest validators are rewarded and those who report incoherently are penalized. The core of Razor Network is a set of smart contracts that can run on any Ethereum compatible blockchain.
Razor relies on the underlying blockchain for providing certain properties such as censorship resistance, security from network partition attacks, etc.
Coming a bit late in the Oracle race, Razor Network is facing well advanced competitors in a market that is still led by ChainLink.
While the codebase is open sourced and looks correct for what they are trying to achieve, we are still waiting for a working product and there is still a lot of work to be done on the documentation and ease of use for it to see developer adoption.
