Why is my TMAI not detected in the migration portal?

Common reasons why a Base wallet or exchange account might not appear in the migration checker, and how to resolve them.

Why is my TMAI not detected in the migration portal?

If your wallet address does not appear in the migration eligibility checker, it is usually due to one of the following reasons. Verify each step below to ensure your account is ready for migration.

1. Tokens are held on a centralized exchange

The migration portal only scans self-custody Base wallets. It cannot read balances on exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken. If your TMAI is on an exchange, it will not show up in the checker. You must use the separate exchange holder migration path instead.

2. Unsupported wallet software

The portal requires an EIP-6963 compatible browser extension or mobile wallet. If you are using Trust Wallet on mobile, a hardware wallet without a software bridge, or an older wallet version, the portal may fail to detect it. Switch to a supported wallet such as MetaMask, Rabby, Uniswap Wallet, Vision Wallet, or Coinbase Wallet.

3. Tangem card restrictions

Tangem hardware cards cannot connect directly to the migration portal. To migrate TMAI from a Tangem card, you must first import your recovery phrase into a supported software wallet (like MetaMask or Rabby) and connect that software wallet to the portal.

4. Wrong network selected

Ensure your connected wallet is switched to the Base network. The migration portal only reads TMAI balances on Base. If your wallet is on Ethereum Mainnet or another chain, the checker will show zero or no eligibility.

5. Post-snapshot withdrawals

Eligibility is locked to a specific snapshot date. If you withdrew TMAI from liquidity pools (like Uniswap or Merkl) or moved tokens to another wallet after the snapshot, those post-snapshot balances will not appear in the eligibility checker. Your claim amount is calculated strictly based on the snapshot balance.

If you have verified all steps above and your wallet still does not appear, ensure you are using the official migration portal at tokenmetrics.com/migration and that your wallet has no pending network requests blocking the connection.
